That's some warhammer drumming you've got there. The riffing just paints a picture of a thrash metal band in my head. All you need now is to somehow rope Brian Fair into singing for you!
Five and ten! \m/

Hmm.. that would be pretty sweet. Thank you for your review, and thinking my shit is worthy of Brian Fair's voice. haha.
Rock on, man.\m/

I really like the bass at the beginning. Sounds a bit like the one for a song I wrote, but can't get to NG because even as an MP3 it's 8.8 megs.
Nevertheless, I'm quickly becoming a fan of yours. Five and ten!

Insane? Not a chance, man. This is powerful stuff. Keep it up, man!
BTW: it's inevitable.

Thanks a lot for your review, I really appreciate it. :) PS: Thanks for pointing out the correct spelling to me of that word, lol. :P

I really wish you used something other than that marimba-sounding thing; it sounds so discordant. However, I'll reconsider if you re-do the song. Everything else sounds great!

PS: I REALLY friggin' need sheet music for this song.

To me, it seems like the song "Meadows of Heaven" by Nightwish collided with the Supreme Commander soundtrack. Bad thing? Quite the opposite--this is a tremendous work. Why didn't I start reviewing Classical stuff a LONG time ago?
One thing, though: it doesn't sound much like a battle, y'know? More like the opening track for an epic movie. Having just said that, I wonder if it'll show up in an NG Flash movie....

Although I wish I could write three humongous paragraphs like Zach did, I can't, as this song has left me speechless.
I am awed at the fact that artists of this caliber populate Newgrounds. Of course, Metalcan and Xenogenocide are two of such, but...yeah.
Wow. Just wow.

I appreciate that commander, though i'm not doing it for popularity or recognition at this point. I am just glad that my emotions have meant something to someone else.

Five and ten for this one for the main reason that it is one of the best heavy metal songs I've downloaded to date. (As a mark of how much I like to listen to it, "Avast" has 80 plays in my iTunes library, making it the 13th most-played song in it (out of 430+ songs).)
Best of all is the solo at 2:27, which reminds me strongly of "One" by Metallica--I bet if someone made a Guitar Hero chart of that, the triplets would look identical.
Just one question: what model is your drum set that you used in the song? I'm looking to buy one and those drums sound sick.
In closing, it's a pretty killer song. Is an Avast II due anytime soon?

Unlike many, when reviewing stuff I actually take the time to write an ACTUAL set of paragraphs, not simply write a useless compliment and save it. It's a force of habit from writing reader reviews on IGN, as they enforce a 500 character minimum.

GvP's melody never seems to get old, and neither does the concept. It's not a REAL guitar, indeed, but it's a good-sounding guitar. I don't see how it's low-quality at all.
Melody? Super-catchy. I'll hazard a guess that it's an Em-C-D-Em progression, right? I've written (not uploaded--written) stuff in that key and the way the melody works definitely sounds a little familiar.
I also like the way it's a fast-tempo song (my guess is around 200 BPM). It definitely makes good drumming material, especially for those with a double-bass pedal.
In closing, great concept. Great sound. Goukisan, I look foward to your next killer concept. Five and ten for this one.

One of those background synths sounded a bit weird, but overall it came out pretty nicely.
PS: What did you use for the strings? A WAV loops? A VST synth?
